Supporter Alpha

TaskTabby Supporter Alpha opens August 3, 2026.

TaskTabby is a privacy-first Windows desktop focus companion that keeps one task nearby, offers gentle support, and turns focused work into visible progress. This is early alpha software, built for people comfortable testing something unfinished.

A deliberately small first group

Thirty testers, so support can stay personal.

The first paid Supporter Alpha is capped at 30 people. A smaller group makes it possible to respond carefully, understand feedback, and improve the Windows build without pretending it is ready for everyone.

What supporters get

Early access with a direct feedback loop.

  • Access to early Supporter Alpha builds
  • A clear Windows install guide
  • A practical channel for bug reports and feedback
  • Updates as the core focus loop improves
  • A Supporter Alpha member number after payment

What is not ready yet

This is not a finished 1.0 release.

  • Some companion states and responses remain experimental
  • Progression, history, and onboarding still need refinement
  • Bugs, rough edges, and occasional performance issues are expected
  • macOS and Linux builds are not available
  • Features may change in response to testing

Funding transparency

How the funding will be used

The Supporter Alpha is limited to 30 paid testers at $25 each. That means the first alpha can bring in up to $750 before any payment, tax, or operating considerations.

That money will not turn TaskTabby into a finished product overnight, but it can help move the project forward in real ways.

TaskTabby is still being built by one developer, so I want the paid alpha to stay realistic. This is not a big launch pretending to be a finished product. It is a small, controlled supporter alpha for people who want to help shape the app early.

Funding will help cover

  • App signing and distribution costs
  • Website and hosting costs
  • Additional artwork and animation work
  • New props and companion content
  • Testing and release preparation
  • Continued development and polish

How invitations work

Reviewed first, paid second.

Waitlist entries are reviewed manually. Selected testers receive a private invitation and payment link. A place becomes confirmed only after payment is completed. No public payment link is available.

Who should join

People comfortable shaping an early product.

Join if you use Windows 10 or 11, spend meaningful time working at a computer, value privacy-first software, and are willing to report rough edges with patience and useful context.

Who should wait

People who need finished, predictable software.

Wait for a later release if you need a polished production tool, guaranteed compatibility, a complete progression system, macOS or Linux support, or a companion experience with no bugs or changing behavior.

Privacy-first promise

Your focus data should remain yours.

TaskTabby is designed as a local-first focus companion. Diagnostics and feedback exports are shared only when you choose to send them. Active-window or app-awareness features, where present, will be opt-in and clearly explained.

  • No telemetry by default
  • No automatic uploads
  • No background crash reporting
  • No screen recording or screenshot collection

Refunds and support

Early access should still be handled fairly.

Supporter Alpha access is for early testers. If TaskTabby will not run on your Windows system or you feel the alpha is not a fit, contact support within 14 days of purchase.

Supporter Alpha waitlist

Tell me how you hope to use TaskTabby.

The form helps keep the first group relevant and manageable. Your waitlist number records your submission order, but it is not a reservation or Supporter Alpha member number.

Selected testers will receive a private invitation. Payment information is never collected through this form.

Platform availability

This OS is not supported by the current alpha.

The current Supporter Alpha is for Windows 10 and Windows 11 only. You can still join the waitlist—your response helps show which platforms people want TaskTabby on—but you will not be eligible to test this release on the selected OS.

* Joining does not guarantee one of the 30 paid alpha spots. Private payment invites are sent manually after review.
